It seems that we are afraid of much more than we realize, and we need look no further than our fears of failure, as well as our fear of success. We fear failing, at whatever we deem as important to ourselves, because of how we may be viewed and compared to others who have succeeded where we have failed. But, the fear of success is equally paralyzing when we desire to achieve something in our lives. The notion that we fear failing is not too difficult to understand, because inherent in the idea is the possibility of success, and not achieving the goals. Whereas, the fear of success seems, on the surface, counter intuitive. And yet, it is through the higher reaches of success where we fear the potential plunge of failure if the successful endeavor turns out to fail.
