Wednesday was quite a surprise! Walking into the high school in the morning, I was surprised to find out that Andy did not show up to class and that we had a sub! At first, I thought "What am I going to do?" Afterwards, after being given the agenda from the day, I started to get moving from there.
There were problems, however. One, Andy's lesson plans and links were locked, so I had to think of a way to get the examples for the assignments without relying on his given ones. I talked to a couple students, Salina was being awesome, and both class hours were very patient!
I guess what I'm trying to say is that teaching is an experience, especially when your host teacher is not around. To be a great teacher, in my opinion, is to be able to think/process the agenda on the fly and not letting yourself be deterred by the change and sometimes the fast-paced atmosphere of it all. I learned how to I should hold myself as a teacher in front of Andy's students and that realization helped me take another step towards becoming an educator, especially one of Andy's caliber.
