It is amazing what happens to the scale of learning when people are engaged in the work at hand. All the discussion, all the reading, all the connecting each helps to support and encourage learning. We are doing it in class, and doing it well.
There will be bumps in the road for sure. There will be set backs - and that is part of the process. New growth doesn't happen without a bit of pain and disappointment. It does, however, lead to new found ways of understanding - which is my aim.
After this class my students will be ushered into the postsecondary world where they are the ones in charge of their minds and actions. Setting them up with the habits of mind for postsecondary success is important for them to thrive. Learning to work interdependently is key to all of this especially in our interconnected digital world.
This week is still part of the beginning, but an important moment to help shape the rest of the year. I am thrilled with the work done to this point - a good feeling.
